How to get your prayers answered?

I know that this may sound like a stupid question. But how do I get my prayers answered? I mean when I was in hs I would pray for some "virtually impossible" things and I would have my prayers answered. Now that I am older this isn't happening. I go to church, pray, and read my Bible. How can I get my prayers answered? I am not praying for crazy stuff just normal everyday stuff. Thanks

Your prayers are answered.

The question isn't 'how do I change God," which is what you're asking. The question is, "how do you change YOU," so that you're comfortable accepting the answer when the answer to your prayer is 'no.'

Well, the first thing you have to remember that God doesn't answer prayers just because you pray them. Also, have you heard the song Unanswered prayers by Garth Brooks? If you haven't then you should listen to it cause even though it may seem like you need your prayer answered you may find somewhere down the road that you are glad he didn't answer your prayer because God truly does look out for your best interest. I know the song plays on a huge prayer but it is also true at times for the small insignificant prayers. Above all, it takes faith to pray... not necessarily to have them answered but the faith in God that he will take care of you and the faith that he knows what he is doing and that if he doesn't answer the prayer the faith that he does have your best interest at heart.

You can pray.  The rest is in God's hand.  You cannot control what God does; you can just pray in faith that God's plan is going to work out for the best.

Remember that there are three possible answers to prayer, yes, no, and wait for something even better.

My experience has been with specific answers to specific prayers, answered on time. This is not self-hypnosis or any other justification. It is a conversation with the most powerful Being in the universe, who cares about me.

I have been taught that reading the Bible is not just a religious exercise.  By thinking about the words and experiences, one can come to have a better idea of how our Creator thinks.    It is easy for the faithless to look at the Bible as the product of men, often because they are not motivated to learn the context or the circumstances of the verses.  If you do search for God, he will let himself be found.

This is why a basic requirement of getting one's prayers answered is faith.

Hebrews 11:6

6 Moreover, without faith it is impossible to please God well, for whoever approaches God must believe that he is and that he becomes the rewarder of those earnestly seeking him.

James 1:5-8

5 So if any one of you is lacking in wisdom, let him keep asking God, for he gives generously to all and without reproaching, and it will be given him. 6 But let him keep asking in faith, not doubting at all, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven by the wind and blown about. 7 In fact, that man should not expect to receive anything from Jehovah; 8 he is an indecisive man, unsteady in all his ways.

The bible says to have faith.

It also says that you are to believe what you receive when you pray.

Forgive those who you have aught against.

with that said just pray and believe that God will remove the blinders off your eyes and that you will see that God will supply your needs. You then leave it with the Lord and allow Him to work on it.

if you were a farmer, you would till the soil and then plant the seeds and then water it. then there is a time of waiting for it to germinate and then sprout. You would not pull up that little sprout when it has started to grow, would you? because if you did there would be no harvest. so then the farmer has to wait, and water, and pull the weeds, and tend the plants, but never pulling the plant up.

then when is ripe for picking will he reap the answer.

so it is with your prayers.

'God bless you

God is always answering your prayers. He knows what you want and He knows what you need. He also knows the difference between them.

He gives you the answers and you must listen and accept the answer. But He doesn't always answer in a way that you expect. Listen to your heart. Ask Him to explain and read the Bible.

You can't trick God into answering your prayers.  LOL.  Jesus told us how to pray.  We pray for God's will to be done, not our own.

Satan mimics God all the time and will even answer prayers with goodies.  He comes as an angel of light.  Be careful, know who you're praying to.

number 1 - surrender your will to God's will and always ask according to his will.

number 2 - WALK-IN LOVE...no unforgiveness, bitterness, strife.  Forgive people quickly, even if you don't feel it.  Do it in faith.

number 3 - HAVE CLEAN HANDS - don't say or do anything that would hurt anyone in any way.  walk in love.

number 4 - CONFESS SINS.  all it takes is a confession because Jesus is faithful and just to forgive you your sins and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness.

number 5 - HAVE FAITH - hope against hope and then hope some more.

number 6 - HAVE PATIENCE - God is not a sprinter.  Be in it for the long haul..

number 7 - BE PERSISTENT - never give up!!!!!

God answers in HIS own way, not necessarily ours.  He does answer, just not always in the way we expect.  Sometimes the answer is "yes".  Sometimes, it's "no".  It could be a "wait".  But He does answer.

Answered prayer doesn't necessarily mean you get exactly what you want.  God isn't a vending machine.

Remember prayer and works go together. You have to both pray hard and work hard for things that you want. Then it is God's will, you will receive it.
