No it's not illegal, unless they physically prevent you from leaving through force, as they do not have the right to detain you, but by saying you must stay here for lunch etc then they have done nothing wrong, so technically you could walk out, but chances are your school would impose other punishment.

It actually is illegal, but most school contracts that ur parents sign each year say that teachers can hold you back for up to 2 or 3 or however many minutes if needed to talk to you in private. Still, you have the right to leave when u want to. For lunch, you retain the right to eat, especially if u have to pay for it anyways. For classes, if ur already being forced to go to schoool, another teacher cant hold u back from getting to ur next

i might convey the eating concern to right here interest. If that don't artwork circulate over her head. however the only written regulation i'm conscious off have been I stay. is they're able to no longer save you after very final bell. in case you reside extra suitable than 5 miles from the school. I enjoyed that regulation. in no way had to do detention .in spite of how no longer uncomplicated I tryed.

No, that isn't illegal at all. Many teachers hold students back during lunch for a few minutes to talk to them about something if they're doing something wrong.

It is written in code 17.3 of the public/private school manual that at the set time of dismissal, a student must be allowed to leave school
